CODE OF CONDUCT

1.            Punctuality:

Training at 10:30 a.m., means arrive at 10:15 a.m!  Forfeits for lateness.

2.            Respect:

            a)            For referees:

The Referee is always right, even when he is completely, utterly and horribly wrong.  Think what you like, but your mouths shut and your arms by your side!

b) Opposition players:

Mild banter during the game is fine, but, after the game, form a tunnel, smile, shake hands.  Win or lose, congratulate them on their efforts.  If the other side are abusive, walk away (and simply make a mental note to tackle them extra hard next time!).

c)          Coaches:

We do it for fun but we have a simple ambition to make you, individually, better Rugby players, and collectively, the best age group team in the area (the area, hopefully, including England and ultimately Europe and the world!).  You are unlikely to help us achieve this ambition if you throw mud or don’t listen.

d)         Between our own players:

People will make mistakes, but they should be encouraged not ridiculed.
We don’t squabble amongst ourselves, as the opponents love nothing more.  We just get on with the game.  We are a team.  Everybody gives 100% during every game.

3.            Ambition:

Our ambition is play simple, fast open Rugby involving the whole team.

4.            Techniques:

a) Carry the ball in two hands, at all times (except in exceptional circumstances, which are to be defined in the unlimited discretion of your coaches).  (Your parental consent forms have been amended to provide consent for the removal of body parts, in the event of a breach of this provision!).

b) Tackling is not optional!

5.            Selection and Game Time:

Selection and game time is a right to be earned by a positive effort, attitude and ability.  It is not on reputation and talent without application is not enough.

6.            Behaviour:

Bad behaviour by one or more players will result in a yellow card and/or group forfeits!

7.         Dress Code:

For matches, you will be supplied with a Kenilworth shirt, but every player should also have plain navy blue shorts, Kenilworth socks, clean boots and a gumshield!  Every registered player will be given a “dress shirt” to wear after the game.
